VeriTime Release Notes – Week of March 17, 2014

During the week of March 17th, 2014, we are planning to release a few changes to functionality in VeriTime. This release includes cosmetic updates, Staff Groups changes, and the removal of Job Families. Read on for more information.

Reminder

Back in June of 2013 we changed the web address of the VeriTime site to “veritime.aesoponline.com” for access to VeriTime and for clock kiosks. For your convenience, we have been redirecting visitors for the last 9 months who go to the old address on to the new address. As of the March 19th release we will no longer be redirecting from the old address. Check your bookmarks and clock kiosks and make sure you are using the “veritime.aesoponline.com” address.

Simplified Staff Groups

The Staff Groups are being simplified, moving from a 5 step wizard to a 4 step wizard.  Steps 1 and 2 of the current Staff Group Wizard have now been combined into the “Name” step, saving you a step when you need to manage Staff Groups. But don’t worry. If you already have Staff Group Profiles in the system, they will automatically be converted to individual Staff Groups. Day-to-day users won’t notice any difference at all.  There is nothing that you need to do to facilitate this change and no data needs to be “fixed” or altered in any way.

We have also added a new “View” page for the Staff Groups. You can access this page through the Quick Links, or by going directly to Configure | Staff Groups.

The View Page will give you an overall summary of the Staff Group, show the associated Users, and why the user is associated with the Staff Group.

Cosmetic Changes

We have updated the look and feel of the Job Type and Staff Group pages. They will now match the look of the other pages we have recently updated. The Job Types page will also have an additional column showing the current Staff Group to which the Job Type is associated.  The Work Year column is no longer a required field for Job Types and has been removed since no functionality was built to use that information.

Removal of Job Families

Due to overwhelming customer feedback, we have added many features to VeriTime to enable us to eliminate the need for Job Families. All areas of the system that were previously covered by Job Families will now be associated by Job Type. This should have no impact on your VeriTime setup.  As with the Staff Group changed listed at the start of these notes, there is nothing that you need to do to facilitate this change and no data needs to be “fixed” or altered in any way.  All areas where Job Families used to appear will be changed to show the Job Types that were previously associated with the Job Families.
