User Combo Barcodes Vs. User Barcodes

There are two main types of barcodes that a user can have, a User Combo Barcode or a User Barcode. A User Combo Barcode only works for the In/Out – Scan or In/Out – Scan or ID/PIN kiosks. User Combo Barcodes store more information about the user than User Barcodes. User Combo Barcodes supply the kiosk with the user’s log-in information as well as the user’s position (Job Type-Location combination) and Time Event Type. For this reason, users with the User Combo Barcode can only be assigned one position per barcode.

The User Barcode is ideal for a user who works at multiple locations or positions. A User Barcode simply stores a user’s log-in information so that when that user scans into a kiosk, VeriTime knows who is clocking in. This simple barcode can be used at any scanning kiosk type. When a user with only one position and Time Event Type option scans into an In/Out kiosk, they will automatically be clocked in or out. If the user has multiple positions or Time Event Types available at that kiosk, the user will be prompted to specify what they are clocking into. At Portal kiosks, the user will always be required to specify what they are clocking into.
